Why Porcelain Veneers?
Did you write down all your answers? At the very end, I will give you the answers and you can let us know how you did! Some of those were hard ones!! If you don’t know much about veneers, they’re usually made of porcelain and they are wafer-thin material placed over each tooth to correct the shape, size, and color of each tooth one by one. They completely transform your smile and make it as perfect as physically possible! They are a permanent and low-maintenance solution to almost any issue you might have with your smile and are a HUGE confidence booster.
What is the Process Like For Getting Veneers?
During your first visit, Dr. Addario will prep your teeth by removing a small amount of enamel to make room for the porcelain veneer’s placement. Then, he will make an impression on your teeth. He’ll also determine your natural tooth color and the shade of white you want your new smile to be. This shade information is then sent to the lab. The lab uses this impression and the information about your shade choice to create your brand-new veneers. Some people may have temporary veneers placed while they wait for the permanent set. Once the new, permanent set comes in, we will call you to set up your appointment to come back in. The new veneers undergo an examination to ensure a perfect fit. Then Dr. Addario bonds the veneers to your tooth one by one. The veneers are then “cured” with a special light for about 60 seconds. This ensures that they’re firmly attached. If there’s any extra material, he will remove it with special instruments.
How Do I Take Care of My Veneers?
Maintenance on veneers is easy! Just take good care of them like you would your normal teeth. Brush and floss twice daily. Try to avoid staining food and drinks like coffee and wine and if you must have them rinse with water right after or better yet mouthwash or brush right after. Keep up with your twice-yearly dental cleanings and exams so we can monitor your veneers and make sure nothing else needs to be done.
